Amid rising regional tensions and ongoing US Iran talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to undertake a three nation diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s role in global peace efforts. According to sources, the prime minister will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye, engaging with key leadership to discuss regional stability and security challenges.
The visit will begin in Saudi Arabia, where PM Shehbaz is expected to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and the evolving situation in the Middle East. The second leg of the tour will take him to Qatar, followed by Turkiye, where further consultations on regional diplomacy and peace initiatives will take place.
This visit comes at a crucial time, as Pakistan has emerged as a central mediator in the US Iran conflict. Islamabad recently hosted historic talks between Washington and Tehran, marking the first direct high level engagement in more than a decade. Although the talks lasted over 20 hours, they ended without a formal agreement, highlighting the complex nature of the conflict.
Key issues expected to be discussed during the trip include the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, which remains critical for global energy supply, and the possibility of resuming US Iran talks in Islamabad. The region continues to face uncertainty following military actions and disruptions in maritime trade routes, making diplomatic coordination essential.
Pakistan’s proactive engagement with regional allies reflects its commitment to promoting peace and stability. By consulting with influential nations, the government aims to build consensus and support for ongoing diplomatic efforts.
With global attention focused on the Middle East, PM Shehbaz’s visit could play a significant role in shaping future negotiations. As diplomatic efforts intensify, Pakistan continues to position itself as a key player in resolving international conflicts through dialogue and cooperation.
