A 22-year-old Azerbaijani woman has recorded her statement before a judicial magistrate regarding a tragic sexual assault incident in Lahore’s Defence area. The victim, who traveled to Pakistan for business purposes, alleged that three men forced her to consume alcohol before assaulting her at a rented flat. Law enforcement authorities have already arrested two suspects involved in the crime, while ongoing police raids are underway to apprehend the third fleeing perpetrator.
According to her official statement, the victim landed in Islamabad from Istanbul and later traveled toward Lahore, where she contacted two local women. After meeting at a local cafe, a few men joined them and escorted her to a separate room. When she attempted to leave, the men restrained her and demanded money. Despite her offering cash to secure her exit, the men blackmailed her and forced her to drink alcohol under the pretense of letting her go.
She stated that the three men subjected her to sexual assault after she consumed the drink and forcibly took her belongings, including an iPhone and PKR 200,000. The perpetrators threatened her against lodging a formal complaint with the authorities before dumping her out of a moving vehicle. She managed to seek assistance from nearby citizens and contacted Lahore police. Police officers are currently working to recover her stolen devices and bring the final suspect to justice.
