The investigation into the tragic death of a seven year old girl in Sargodha has taken a significant step forward after a local court handed over four suspects to police custody for six days to facilitate further questioning and evidence collection.
The suspects were produced before a senior civil judge by police officials following their arrest in connection with the alleged attempted rape and murder case. The court approved the request for physical remand, allowing investigators additional time to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the involvement of each accused person.
According to police officials, the prime suspect was arrested late Monday night shortly after the recovery of the child’s body from a grocery store in the area. Authorities later detained three more individuals, including the owner of the shop where the body was allegedly discovered.
Police stated that the victim’s father formally nominated all four suspects in the First Information Report (FIR) registered after the incident. Investigators believe the remand period will help them gather forensic evidence, record statements, and reconstruct the sequence of events that led to the girl’s death.
The heartbreaking case has sparked grief and anger among residents, with many demanding swift justice and stricter measures to ensure the protection of children. Community members have urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
Authorities have assured the public that the investigation is being pursued on a priority basis and that all legal procedures will be followed to uncover the facts. Police officials say further developments are expected as interrogations continue during the six day remand period.
The case has once again highlighted growing concerns about child safety and the urgent need for stronger safeguards to protect vulnerable members of society from violent crimes.
