Pakistan’s experienced left arm spinner Noman Ali created history after becoming the oldest player to complete 100 Test wickets during the first Test match against Bangladesh national cricket team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The veteran spinner achieved the remarkable milestone after dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz. With this achievement, Noman Ali joined the elite list of Pakistan bowlers who have crossed the 100 wicket mark in Test cricket. He was also impressed with the important wickets of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and spinner Taijul Islam.

At the age of 39 years and 217 days, Noman Ali surpassed former England spinner Bobby Peel, who had previously held the record since 1896. Peel reached the milestone at 39 years and 180 days, making Noman the new record holder in Test cricket history.

The Pakistani spinner also matched another impressive record. He became the joint fourth fastest Pakistan bowler to claim 100 Test wickets, completing the feat in just 22 Test matches. Legendary Pakistan pacer Fazal Mahmood had also reached the same milestone in 22 matches.

Former Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah remains the fastest Pakistani bowler to take 100 Test wickets in only 17 matches. Other notable names on the list include Saeed Ajmal, Waqar Younis, Mohammad Asif and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Noman Ali’s achievement is being celebrated as a major moment for Pakistan cricket, especially because he reached the milestone at an age when most cricketers retire from international cricket.
