Five India backed terrorists killed in Panjgur operation by security forces

Security forces have killed at least five India sponsored terrorists and injured several others during a successful intelligence based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district. The action took place under Operation Radd ul Fitna 3 on Thursday, according to security sources.

The militants were travelling on motorcycles and heading to carry out a terrorist attack when the forces intercepted them in the Kali Suran area of Panjgur. Using advanced weapons, the security personnel targeted the group and neutralized the threat before any harm could be done.

A large quantity of sophisticated weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists. Security forces also seized three vehicles, two motorcycles, an improvised explosive device and a flag of a banned organisation. Officials confirmed that the group had been actively involved in target killings, kidnappings, armed robberies and planning suicide attacks in the region.

This latest success comes shortly after another major operation on August 18. In that action, security forces eliminated more than nine terrorists during separate intelligence based operations in Ziarat, Harnai and Surab districts of Balochistan, also under Operation Radd ul Fitna 3.

Pakistan has faced a rise in terrorist activities, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021. A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies highlighted that these two provinces remained the main centres of violence during the second quarter of 2026. Together they accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence related fatalities. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest number of deaths and incidents, while Balochistan followed closely behind.

Security sources described the Panjgur operation as a significant blow to the network of foreign backed militants operating in the province. The recovery of advanced weapons and explosive material shows the serious nature of the threat these groups continue to pose.

The ongoing operations under Radd ul Fitna 3 reflect the determination of the security forces to eliminate terrorist elements and restore lasting peace in Balochistan. Officials say such intelligence driven actions will continue until the region is free from the menace of terrorism and its people can live without fear.

Local communities have welcomed the successful operation, expressing hope that consistent efforts by the security forces will bring greater stability and development to the area.
