Before the rain arrived, West Indies reached 49 for 1, making a positive start after choosing to bat. Brandon King looked in excellent form, remaining unbeaten on 33 from only 27 deliveries. The aggressive right hander struck seven boundaries, putting pressure on Pakistan’s bowlers with his attacking approach. At the other end, Kevlon Hodge was yet to score when the players were forced off the field.
Pakistan’s only breakthrough came through Mohammad Ali, who continued his impressive bowling form. To strengthen their lineup, Pakistan made four changes to the playing XI. Ubaid Shah and Awais Zafar were handed their Test debuts, while Abdullah Shafique and Sajid Khan returned to the side. Meanwhile, Mohammad Abbas, Shan Masood, Khurram Shahzad, and Aamer Jamal were left out for the decisive encounter.
Despite the brief action, the opening session offered glimpses of an exciting contest between bat and ball. However, the weather remained the biggest talking point of the day.
