The Pentagon has released its sixth batch of records concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs, offering new details about decades of government investigations and a secretive military research programme.
According to the released records, the latest disclosure contains 71 files covering the period from 1952 to 2025. The collection includes 55 PDF documents, 15 videos and one audio recording. Many of the documents remain partially redacted.
Some of the most notable material concerns the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Programme (AAWSAP), which was established by the Defence Intelligence Agency in 2008. The programme examined potential aerospace threats and emerging technologies that could have major implications for national security.
The programme ended in 2012 and produced research covering concepts such as wormholes, warp drives, antigravity, negative-mass propulsion and invisibility cloaking. The release includes 37 Defence Intelligence Reference Documents examining these subjects.
However, the Pentagon has stressed that these documents were intended as reference and synthesis material rather than original scientific research. Their inclusion does not mean the US government has confirmed that the technologies or phenomena discussed actually exist.
Another document from 2010 examined reports of alleged injuries connected to unexplained aerospace encounters. The 38-page study discussed three antenna engineers who reportedly experienced unusual incidents followed by symptoms including skin redness, heat exposure and hair loss. The document also described reported signs of radiation illness and later health complications.
The latest files also contain military footage involving unexplained objects. One 2022 Middle East incident reportedly showed a UAP travelling at between 80 and 180 miles per hour. Another recording showed six small spherical objects that appeared to move rapidly and change direction.
Historical records are also included. A 1952 recording features Air Force officer Edward Ruppelt discussing UFO investigations, while a new legal waiver allows current and former employees with nondisclosure agreements to provide certain UAP-related information to the government.
The release adds to the growing public record surrounding UFO investigations, while leaving many reported incidents unexplained.
