Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has shared her joy and pride after her youngest daughter Mahnoor Safdar successfully completed her graduation from SOAS University of London. The young woman earned her degree in Anthropology during the university’s September 2026 graduation ceremonies held in central London.
Maryam Nawaz travelled to the British capital on a short private visit specifically to attend the ceremony. Speaking to Geo News after the event, she expressed deep happiness that her youngest child had now finished university education. “I am very happy about my daughter’s graduation. I thank God that my youngest daughter has also completed her graduation,” she said.
She described the moment as one of the greatest sources of pride for any parent. “There can be no prouder moment for parents than seeing their children graduate and complete their education. I wish that every parent gets to experience this happiness and that every child gets the opportunity to receive a good education.”
Maryam noted that all three of her children have now completed their higher education, calling it a special moment of happiness for the entire family. Mahnoor Safdar, the youngest of Maryam and Muhammad Safdar’s three children, studied at SOAS University of London between 2023 and 2026.
During her stay in London, Maryam kept the visit largely private and did not announce any formal political engagements. She did, however, meet PML-N UK leaders Ahsan Dar and Khurram Butt for a luncheon meeting.
When asked about reports of differences inside the PML-N and ongoing discussions about new provinces, Maryam firmly rejected claims that the party was divided. “Who said the party is divided?” she asked. She added that many people in the past had tried to create rifts in the PML-N, but the party had remained strong. “Many came who tried to divide the PML-N, and many went away. The PML-N is still standing where it was.”
On governance, the Punjab chief minister said other provinces should follow the same approach as Punjab. She stressed that visible results only come through continuous hard work and sustained effort. Her government, she said, is working day and night for development and public welfare so that the people can see real progress.
