Security forces have successfully foiled a major terror attempt in Gwadar, killing at least 10 militants including one female terrorist, the military’s media wing ISPR reported on Friday. One civilian was also martyred during the clashes.
According to the ISPR statement, India-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists tried to carry out attacks on October 22 in the general areas of the Gabd Border Crossing and Gwadar city. The militants aimed to harm local residents and disrupt the development and prosperity of Balochistan.
To protect the people and clear the area, security forces launched immediate clearance operations in and around Gwadar city. In separate engagements, the forces effectively stopped the terrorists from spreading their agenda and challenging the writ of the state.
During the intense exchanges of fire, ten terrorists, including a female militant, were eliminated. One civilian embraced martyrdom and a few vehicles were damaged. Importantly, the operations ended without any loss to the security forces, and normal order was quickly restored.
The military strongly condemned the use of a Baloch woman in the attack, calling it a crime against both the state and the honour of Baloch women. It said the terrorists cynically exploit women for propaganda purposes to create false sympathy and inflame public emotions. Such tactics go against Baloch and Islamic traditions that hold women in the highest respect.
The people of Balochistan have repeatedly rejected those who spill blood in their name, and they will see through this deception as well, the statement added.
The counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue with full force. Security forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain fully determined to eliminate all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
The latest success comes hours after Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir vowed that the Pakistan Army will hit India-backed terrorists hard. He made the remarks during a visit to Corps Headquarters in Peshawar.
Pakistan has seen a sharp increase in cross-border terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021. The country recorded its highest monthly number of militant attacks in 12 years during September 2026.
