Iran Surrender Demand: Trump Rejects Nuclear Deal

Iran faces strong pressure from the United States as President Donald Trump made clear that the kind of agreement he wants is still far from reality. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, Trump stated that Iran is unlikely to accept the terms needed to stop the ongoing conflict. He stressed that the core reason for American involvement remains simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.

Trump firmly rejected any idea of extending the earlier interim arrangement. That temporary understanding, reached in June, had called for an immediate and permanent end to military actions on all sides. It fell apart quickly. By early July Trump declared the deal over, and Iran’s foreign ministry later called it suspended. The original plan required both sides to work toward a final agreement covering wider issues, including the future of Iran’s nuclear activities, within sixty days. Monday marked the end of that window with no progress in sight.

Hours earlier, during a phone interview with Fox News, Trump went further and said Iran should raise the white flag of surrender. He repeated the same message later, insisting the number one goal has always been preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon in any form.

Meanwhile, separate discussions continue between Oman and Iran aimed at reopening commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Before the fighting began in late February, the waterway handled about twenty percent of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas. Rising fuel prices caused by the disruption have increased pressure on Trump to find a way out of the unpopular war ahead of the November midterm elections that will decide control of Congress.

Trump warned that if Oman interferes with efforts to restore free passage, the United States would respond forcefully. When asked whether he had lost patience with Oman, he replied that the country had not behaved well but that Washington could handle the situation easily. He also told Fox News that the approaching midterms play no role in his thinking on Iran.

The president’s comments leave little room for doubt. Washington continues to demand that Tehran abandon any path toward a nuclear weapon and accept the conditions required to end the conflict. With talks stalled and the interim deal expired, the call for surrender now stands at the center of American policy.
