The Epic Games Store has officially announced its final free game for January 2026, and it is a quirky management simulator titled Definitely Not Fried Chicken. The reveal has sparked excitement among PC gamers, as Epic continues its popular tradition of offering high quality games at no cost.
Starting January 29, players will be able to claim Definitely Not Fried Chicken completely free from the Epic Games Store. The game will be available for a limited time, allowing users to add it permanently to their library without spending a single rupee or dollar.
Definitely Not Fried Chicken is an absurd yet strategic management simulation game where players run a fast food restaurant that secretly operates as a front for a large scale drug empire. On the surface, the business sells fried chicken, but behind the scenes, players must carefully manage illicit operations while keeping law enforcement at bay.
The core gameplay revolves around balancing legitimate income with illegal expansion. Players must grow their legal chicken business enough to convincingly mask criminal activity. From handling complex supply chains to diversifying products and managing risk, every decision directly affects success or failure.
The theme will feel especially familiar to Breaking Bad fans, as the game allows players to channel a Gustavo Fring style role, blending clean business operations with hidden criminal ambition. The title has been praised for its deep micromanagement systems and engaging progression mechanics.
Originally released on PC in September 2023, the game has earned a Mostly Positive rating, with players highlighting its originality and strategic depth. Epic Games Store users will have seven days to claim the game, with the offer expiring on February 5 at 8:00 AM PT, 11:00 AM ET, and 9:00 PM PKT.
Before this release, gamers can also grab the current free title Rustler, a medieval inspired action game with classic GTA style gameplay. Epic’s January lineup ends on a strong note, offering something fresh and unconventional for strategy lovers.
