Security forces killed two India-backed militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Turbat, Balochistan, on Wednesday, according to security sources. The operation was carried out as part of Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3 after authorities received information about the presence of militants in the area.
According to the sources, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and militants during the operation. Two terrorists were killed, while some militants reportedly managed to flee the area. Security personnel launched a search operation to locate those who escaped.
The latest action comes amid continued military operations against militant groups in Balochistan. Security sources said that forces remain committed to pursuing militants and preventing further attacks in the province.
A day earlier, security forces reported killing six India-backed terrorists during Operation Shaaban-II in the Saran Tangi area of Balochistan. Nine suspected individuals were also detained during that operation, according to security sources.
In another recent incident, security forces prevented an attempted militant attack on the N-25 highway near Kalat. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), militants had established a checkpoint with the reported intention of abducting passengers, demanding money and taking vehicles.
Security forces responded to the situation and killed five militants. Authorities also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the militants’ hideout. Six trucks, three buses and two cars were recovered from the area.
The recent operations come as Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continue to face significant militant violence. A Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) report said the two provinces accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related fatalities recorded in Pakistan during the second quarter of 2026.
According to the report, KP recorded 475 deaths, while Balochistan reported 265, highlighting the continuing security challenges in both provinces.
