To ensure peace and public order, the government of Punjab has formally requested the deployment of paramilitary forces across four critical districts ahead of the upcoming PTI Islamabad march. The opposition political party, founded by incarcerated leader Imran Khan, has announced a massive demonstration scheduled for September 27 aimed at advocating for constitutional supremacy and the prompt release of its leadership.
The Punjab Home Department submitted an official requisition to the Ministry of Interior, seeking heavy security reinforcement in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Mianwali. Official spokespersons confirmed that the state administration recommended dispatching three companies of troops to Rawalpindi, five full wings to Attock, and one dedicated company each to Jhelum and Mianwali to maintain strict oversight along primary routes.
Concurrently, nationwide security measures are expanding significantly. The federal government requested additional police forces deployment from various provinces to secure the federal capital. Punjab is delivering a contingent of 19,000 personnel, while Sindh is contributing nearly 2,000 officers. Meanwhile, judicial authorities have stepped in to establish legal boundaries surrounding political mobilization. The Islamabad High Court released explicit directives prohibiting political organizers from blocking highways, toll plazas, or essential public thoroughfares. Furthermore, the court ordered provincial chief ministers to strictly prevent any misuse of official state machinery, vehicles, or public funds for political demonstrations.
Compliance warnings have resonated across provincial law enforcement agencies as well. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police leadership strictly instructed personnel not to facilitate any political processions heading toward the federal capital, warning of immediate disciplinary consequences for non-compliance. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reiterated the administration’s commitment to enforcing court mandates and preventing public disruption. Although indirect discussions between political figures remain active, no official resolution has been reached regarding the political gathering. Authorities continue preparing high-level preventive measures across major entry corridors to safeguard regional stability.
