Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held an important meeting in Islamabad to discuss the federal budget, national affairs, development projects, and the evolving regional situation. The meeting highlighted the importance of strong coordination between the federal government and provinces to ensure sustainable economic growth and national development.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that effective cooperation between the Centre and provincial governments is essential for the successful implementation of development initiatives and the delivery of better public services. He stressed that close collaboration among institutions would help accelerate economic progress and improve the lives of citizens across the country.
A key topic of discussion was the Federal Budget 2026-27, which has recently attracted attention due to concerns raised by the Pakistan Peoples Party regarding certain fiscal allocations. Despite these concerns, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue to address differences and ensure the country’s financial stability.
The leaders also reviewed the progress of various federally funded development projects in Sindh. They discussed measures to improve coordination and speed up the completion of projects that could benefit local communities and contribute to regional development.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the prime minister for his support during the government formation process in Gilgit-Baltistan. He also praised the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir in promoting peace and stability amid ongoing developments in the Middle East. According to Bilawal, Pakistan’s balanced diplomatic approach has strengthened the country’s image on the international stage.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together for national progress and agreed that cooperation between federal and provincial institutions remains crucial for achieving long term development goals.
Several senior government officials attended the meeting, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema. PPP leaders Sherry Rehman and Naveed Qamar also participated in the discussions.
