Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan today for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to the Foreign Office.
The visit is expected to focus on strengthening Pakistan-Bahrain relations, with discussions covering security, trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
During his stay, Ishaq Dar and Al Zayani will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC). The meeting will provide an opportunity for both sides to review progress in bilateral cooperation and explore new areas for collaboration.
According to the Foreign Office, the two ministers will discuss a broad range of issues, including trade, investment, economic cooperation, defence and security, labour and manpower, as well as cultural exchanges.
The talks will also include an exchange of views on regional and international developments and cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain at multilateral forums.
The Foreign Office described the relationship between the two countries as close and brotherly, noting that it is based on shared faith, common values, mutual respect and longstanding people-to-people connections. Both countries have maintained regular high-level contacts and cooperation across several sectors.
The Bahraini foreign minister’s visit comes after a recent visit to Pakistan by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard. During his June visit, he held separate meetings with Pakistan’s tri-services chiefs.
Discussions during that visit included Bahrain’s interest in greater cooperation with Pakistan in military training and capacity building, along with efforts to support regional peace and stability.
The latest diplomatic engagement highlights the growing momentum in Pakistan-Bahrain relations and both countries’ interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
