Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has once again emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing rising tensions in the Middle East. During a recent phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, both leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and the urgent need for peaceful solutions.

The conversation comes at a time when relations between Iran and the United States remain strained despite a previously announced ceasefire. Talks between the two sides have remained stalled, and tensions have been further complicated by Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global trade route. This blockade has significantly impacted the flow of oil, gas, and essential commodities, creating ripple effects across the global economy.

According to officials, Dar highlighted that peaceful negotiations are the only practical way forward. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive and neutral role in easing tensions and promoting stability. Pakistan has already hosted high-level discussions between the involved parties, positioning itself as a crucial mediator in the conflict.

On the other hand, Araghchi acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and praised its sincere mediation initiatives. He also shared updates on Iran’s diplomatic approach, including a 14-point proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Reports suggest that the United States has responded to this proposal through Pakistani channels, and Iran is currently reviewing the response.

Despite these developments, challenges remain. The ongoing standoff in the Strait of Hormuz continues to disrupt global supply chains, while countermeasures by the United States have added further complexity to the situation.

Pakistan has reiterated its stance of supporting peace, stability, and diplomatic engagement in the region. Officials believe that continued communication and mutual understanding can help break the deadlock and lead to a lasting resolution.

As tensions persist, Pakistan’s role as a bridge between conflicting sides is becoming increasingly important in shaping a more stable and peaceful regional environment.
