Pakistan’s women football team created history with a stunning and record breaking victory in the FIFA Series, defeating Turks and Caicos Islands by an impressive 8-0 scoreline. The match, played in Abidjan, showcased Pakistan’s dominance and attacking brilliance from the very first whistle.
Under the guidance of coach Adeel Rizki, the team set the tone early with an explosive first half. Four different players scored goals, highlighting the squad’s depth and teamwork. Zahmena Malik opened the scoring, followed quickly by Aqsa Mushtaq, who capitalized on a rebound to double the lead. Midfielder Layla Banaras added a third with an impressive solo effort, while Mariam Mahmood sealed the first half with a well timed volley.
Pakistan continued their dominance in the second half, leaving no room for a comeback. Nadia Khan scored a brilliant header to extend the lead, while Aqsa added another spectacular goal to her tally. Layla also secured her second goal of the match with a powerful strike from outside the box. The scoring was completed by Isra Khan, who netted the final goal, ensuring an unforgettable victory.
This triumph surpassed Pakistan’s previous biggest win of 7-0 against Maldives in 2022, making it their largest ever international victory. The team maintained control throughout the game, keeping their opponents pinned in their own half for most of the match.
Mohsen Gilani, president of the Pakistan Football Federation, praised the players and coaching staff for their outstanding performance. He described the win as the beginning of a new era for women’s football in Pakistan.
