A powerful UAE thunderstorm created a dramatic scene across the country as intense lightning and heavy rain swept through multiple emirates overnight. Residents described the sky as glowing with continuous lightning flashes, making the night appear almost like daytime for several hours.

The storm began late in the evening and quickly intensified, bringing strong winds, loud thunder, and heavy rainfall. Many people reported being awakened by the roaring sound of thunder around 11 pm. The lightning was so frequent and bright that entire neighborhoods were illuminated in seconds.

Several regions were impacted, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi. Among them, Fujairah experienced significant rainfall, while Ras Al Khaimah faced road flooding due to overflowing valleys. Authorities responded quickly by advising drivers to avoid flooded routes and use safer alternatives.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a flash flood warning, highlighting the risks of unstable weather conditions. Emergency alerts were also shared by authorities, urging residents to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and maintain caution on the roads.

In addition, Dubai Police and the Ministry of Interior provided safety instructions in multiple languages, ensuring that all residents remained informed. Reports of hailstorms and reduced visibility further increased concerns, especially for motorists.

Travelers were also affected, as Dubai Airports advised passengers to leave early due to potential delays caused by the severe weather. Meanwhile, popular destinations like Jebel Jais were temporarily closed for safety reasons.

Officials confirmed that the UAE thunderstorm conditions may continue briefly before improving. Residents have been strongly encouraged to stay alert, follow official guidance, and prioritize safety during this period of unstable weather.
