In a series of high-intensity intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted on March 6 and 7, Pakistan’s security forces neutralized 13 India-backed terrorists across five districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations were part of a broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam”, aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism. The ISPR reported that five terrorists were killed in Bajaur, three in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, and five more in Khyber and South Waziristan. These operations involved intense fire exchanges, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants.
The ISPR emphasized that these terrorists were actively involved in multiple attacks and were supported by Indian intelligence networks. Sanitisation operations are ongoing to clear remaining threats in the region.
These IBOs coincide with Pakistan’s broader efforts to counter rising cross-border terrorism along the Afghan border, especially in KP and Balochistan. In response to escalating threats, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, targeting Afghan Taliban fighters and affiliated groups. So far, 527 militants have been killed, 755 injured, and 237 checkposts destroyed, with significant damage to armored vehicles and artillery.
Earlier, Pakistan also struck terrorist camps linked to Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) and Daesh-Khorasan in Nangarhar, Paktika, and Khost provinces of Afghanistan, killing over 80 militants.
Despite multiple rounds of diplomatic talks, tensions remain high due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s reluctance to act against terrorist outfits. Pakistan’s forces continue to demonstrate unwavering resolve in defending the nation’s borders and ensuring internal security.
