Newly released FBI documents by the US Justice Department have revealed additional details from interviews with a woman who accused former US President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein of sexual assault. The documents describe conversations investigators held with the woman in 2019, where she shared disturbing allegations dating back to when she was a teenager.
According to the records, the woman told the FBI that she was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein when she was between 13 and 15 years old. She claimed that Epstein took her on a trip to either New York or New Jersey, where she allegedly met Trump. During the interviews, she said both men assaulted her during that period.
The documents were not included in earlier releases related to the Epstein investigation. The Justice Department stated that the files were mistakenly labeled as “duplicative”, which is why they were not previously made public during earlier disclosures mandated by Congress.
The woman also told investigators that she and people close to her had received threatening phone calls over several years. She believed these calls were meant to pressure her into remaining silent about the alleged incidents connected to Epstein.
Former President Donald Trump has strongly denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein or the accusations mentioned in the documents. In previous statements, officials from the Justice Department said some materials released in connection with the Epstein case contain false or sensational claims about Trump.
Meanwhile, Democratic lawmakers have raised concerns about how the Trump administration handled the release of files related to Epstein. They suspect that certain information may have been withheld to prevent political damage.
The issue has now moved into Congress. On Wednesday, a US House committee voted to issue a subpoena to Attorney General Pam Bondi. Lawmakers want her to testify and answer questions regarding how the Justice Department managed the release of documents tied to the Epstein investigation.
The release of these documents has once again brought attention to the long running Epstein scandal, which continues to spark political debate and legal scrutiny in the United States.
