A six year old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in Karachi’s Napier area, leaving the local community in shock and grief. Police have arrested the victim’s neighbour after the child’s body was discovered inside a sack, and an investigation is currently underway.
According to police officials, Muhammad Wali, the only son among five siblings, went missing on Monday evening while playing outside his home. His family searched desperately for several hours before registering a kidnapping complaint at the local police station. Despite continuous efforts, the child could not be located until his body was later found abandoned in Punjabi Gali.
Authorities said the body showed visible signs of torture, while a post mortem examination has been conducted to determine the exact cause of death and confirm allegations of sexual assault. Police stated that the final medical report will provide more details about the tragic incident.
The main suspect, identified as the victim’s neighbour Hamza, was caught by local residents before being handed over to police. Investigators believe the suspect may have been involved in the crime, and further questioning is continuing to uncover all facts surrounding the case.
The grieving family has appealed to the government and senior law enforcement officials to ensure the accused receives strict punishment. The victim’s mother claimed that her son’s body had been packed into a sack and thrown from a three storey building. Family members also alleged that the crime took place inside the suspect’s house and said he refused to let them search the property while pretending to help them find the missing child.
The victim’s father, a rickshaw driver, said Muhammad Wali was his youngest child and only son. The heartbreaking incident has sparked anger among residents, who are demanding swift justice, stronger child protection measures, and strict action against anyone responsible for the brutal crime. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more evidence is being collected.
