The founder of India’s viral Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced plans to bring the online movement into the real world by leading a peaceful protest in New Delhi. The satirical political campaign has gained massive attention across social media platforms and has become one of the most talked about youth-driven movements in the country.

The Cockroach Janta Party was created by Abhijeet Dipke, a 30 year old graduate of Boston University. The movement emerged after comments reportedly made by Chief Justice Surya Kant during a court hearing sparked controversy. Many young people believed the remarks were directed at government critics, leading to widespread online reactions. The Chief Justice later clarified that his comments were taken out of context and were aimed at individuals using fake academic degrees.

Since its launch, the party’s social media presence has grown rapidly. Its Instagram account has attracted more than 22 million followers, surpassing the follower counts of several major political parties in India. The movement describes itself as a platform created by young people to represent the concerns and aspirations of India’s youth.

Dipke has announced that he will return to India and organize a demonstration in the capital. He plans to seek official permission for a peaceful gathering and has encouraged supporters to join him upon his arrival. He has also called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing concerns about alleged irregularities in major examinations and the impact on students across the country.

The movement’s social media accounts have reportedly faced repeated restrictions and blocks, adding to the public debate surrounding freedom of expression and political criticism online.

Supporters view the campaign as a creative form of political engagement, while critics question its effectiveness beyond social media. As attention continues to grow, the planned protest is expected to test whether the online popularity of the Cockroach Janta Party can translate into real world activism and influence public discourse in India.
