Pakistan and China are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations, marking one of the strongest and most consistent international partnerships in modern history. Officials from both countries described the relationship as an “iron brotherhood” built on trust, strategic cooperation, and mutual support through changing global circumstances.
Chinese Consul General in Karachi, Yang Yundong, highlighted the importance of the anniversary and called the Pakistan-China relationship a symbol of long term friendship and cooperation. He stated that despite global political changes and regional tensions, both countries have continued to stand firmly beside each other on important international and strategic matters.
One of the biggest achievements of the partnership has been the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has brought billions of dollars in investment to Pakistan. According to Chinese officials, CPEC projects have created thousands of jobs, improved infrastructure, expanded energy production, and strengthened economic connectivity across the region.
The two countries are now focusing on CPEC 2.0, which aims to improve industrial growth, agriculture, technology, green energy, and education opportunities for ordinary Pakistanis. Chinese officials also expressed interest in helping Pakistan develop modern technologies including artificial intelligence, space cooperation, and digital innovation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China is being viewed as another major step toward strengthening bilateral relations. Meetings between Pakistani and Chinese leadership are expected to focus on trade, security cooperation, investment opportunities, and regional stability.
Yang Yundong also stressed the importance of peace and diplomacy in regional conflicts, especially regarding tensions in the Middle East. He praised Pakistan’s role in encouraging dialogue and supporting peaceful solutions in international disputes.
Experts believe the Pakistan China partnership has become increasingly important in today’s rapidly changing global environment. Both countries continue to cooperate closely in defence, economic development, education, and technology sectors.
As the two nations celebrate this milestone, leaders from both sides say the future of the Pakistan China friendship looks stronger than ever, with new projects and partnerships expected to benefit millions of people in the coming years.
