Pakistan all rounder Salman Ali Agha has been officially reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the second Test match against Bangladesh national cricket team in Sylhet. The incident occurred during Pakistan’s disappointing defeat in the Test series, which also affected the team’s position in the World Test Championship standings.

According to the ICC, Salman Ali Agha violated Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment, ground fixtures, or clothing during an international match. The incident took place in the 82nd over of Pakistan’s second innings when the batter struck an advertising board with his bat while returning to the pavilion after his dismissal.

The Pakistan cricketer admitted the offence and accepted the punishment proposed by ICC match referee Jeff Crowe, avoiding the need for a formal disciplinary hearing. As part of the sanction, Agha received an official reprimand along with one demerit point added to his disciplinary record. This is now his second offence within a 24 month period, bringing his total to two demerit points.

The charge was filed by experienced match officials including Richard Kettleborough, Kumar Dharmasena, Allahuddien Palekar, and Masudur Rahman Mukul.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s troubles continued on the field as Bangladesh completed a dominant 2 0 Test series victory in Sylhet. Chasing a huge target of 437 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 358 runs despite a fighting innings from Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 94 runs.

Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam played a match winning role with outstanding bowling figures of 6 wickets for 120 runs. The defeat pushed Pakistan down to eighth place in the ICC World Test Championship standings, increasing pressure on the national side ahead of upcoming series.
