A shocking incident of sacrificial goat theft has surfaced in Karachi where unidentified suspects allegedly stole 25 goats worth more than Rs1.9 million from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area ahead of Eid ul Adha. The theft took place during the late hours between Friday and Saturday night, creating concern among animal traders and residents in the city.

According to police officials, the goats were tied at an empty plot located in Block 8-A, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where they had been kept for sale before Eid. The owner, Muhammad Osama Khan, said the animals had been brought to Karachi specifically for the sacrificial animal market season. He added that the stolen goats represented a major financial loss for his business.

Reports suggest the suspects arrived at the location using motorcycles and a car before loading the goats into a mini-truck and escaping from the area. CCTV footage of the robbery has also emerged, clearly showing the suspects carrying out the theft operation during the night.

Police confirmed that a formal complaint has been registered at the Malir Cantt police station and investigations are currently underway. Authorities are now examining CCTV recordings and other available evidence to identify and arrest the suspects involved in the incident.

This case highlights the growing trend of sacrificial animal thefts in several Pakistani cities before Eid ul Adha. Every year, traders invest huge amounts of money in animals for the festive season, making them vulnerable targets for criminal groups. Citizens and animal sellers are being advised to improve security arrangements, especially during nighttime, to avoid such incidents.

The incident has raised serious questions regarding security measures in cattle markets and residential areas where sacrificial animals are temporarily kept before Eid.
