Pakistan Armed Forces Stand Firm with Kashmiris on Youm e Istehsal

On the occasion of Youm e Istehsal, Pakistan’s military leadership has once again expressed strong solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, issued a joint message through the Inter Services Public Relations.

The statement reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan fully support the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self determination. This right, they stressed, is recognized under international law and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The military leadership made it clear that lasting peace in South Asia depends on a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Seven years have passed since India revoked Article 370 and changed the special status of the region. The ISPR statement noted serious concern over the continued presence of Indian security forces in the territory. It highlighted that the scenic valley remains under a military siege, with reports of widespread human rights violations. The leadership also pointed to attempts aimed at changing the demographic character of the area.

According to the statement, such actions, combined with provocative language and aggressive postures, only increase tension and prolong the suffering of ordinary people. Pakistan’s Armed Forces paid tribute to the martyrs of the region and pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom.

The message underscored that no durable peace can take root in the region until the Kashmir issue is resolved in line with the aspirations of its people and the principles laid down by the United Nations. The people and the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain committed to this cause and continue to voice support for justice and dignity for the residents of the occupied territory.
