Pakistan’s security forces successfully eliminated 11 India backed terrorists during multiple intelligence based operations carried out in North Waziristan over the last 48 hours, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations were conducted in the Datta Khel area after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of militants linked to Fitna al Khawarij.
According to the military’s media wing, security personnel engaged terrorist hideouts in a series of fierce gun battles. After intense exchanges of fire, all 11 militants were killed. Officials stated that the terrorists were involved in several violent attacks and terrorist activities in the region. Security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the militants during the operation.
Following the successful intelligence based operations, forces launched sanitisation activities in nearby areas to ensure that no militants remained hidden. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism and restoring peace across the country.
In another major counterterrorism operation in Bannu, security sources confirmed that at least 16 terrorists, including two key commanders, were killed during a joint operation involving the Pakistan Army, police, and the Counter Terrorism Department. Two policemen also embraced martyrdom during the clashes.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist incidents, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the return of the Afghan Taliban to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Pakistani authorities have repeatedly urged the Afghan administration to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory for attacks inside Pakistan.
Earlier, a deadly blast near a railway track in Quetta resulted in the martyrdom of at least 14 people, including Frontier Corps personnel, while several civilians sustained injuries. Security officials continue nationwide operations under Operation Ghazab lil Haq to target terrorist networks and strengthen national security.
The government and armed forces have reiterated their determination to defeat terrorism and maintain peace and stability throughout Pakistan.
