Fresh US airstrikes targeted Iran for the 11th consecutive night, signaling that the conflict remains far from over. President Donald Trump declared that the United States is “not finished,” reinforcing his administration’s commitment to military operations despite growing political pressure at home and rising financial costs.
According to US officials, the latest attacks focused on military logistics infrastructure and strategic sites believed to support Iran’s military capabilities. Air defense systems were activated in Tehran and several other regions after explosions were reported, while Iranian media confirmed strikes near Bushehr, home to one of the country’s nuclear facilities.
Despite the ongoing military campaign, diplomatic efforts have not completely stopped. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that indirect discussions with Washington continue through mediators. At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States remains open to diplomacy but accused Tehran of failing to take negotiations seriously.
The conflict has become increasingly costly for Washington. Pentagon officials estimate the war has already cost around $37.5 billion, making it one of the most expensive military campaigns in recent years. As the conflict enters its fifth month, Trump is facing growing criticism from political opponents and even members of his own support base who want the fighting to end.
Iran has warned that any attack on additional strategic sites, including the underground Pickaxe Mountain nuclear complex, would trigger a broader regional response. Iranian military officials threatened retaliation against US interests and allied nations if such strikes continue.
The conflict is also spreading beyond Iran. Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan reported intercepting drones and missiles linked to Iranian operations, while Yemen’s Houthi movement threatened to block Saudi Arabian ports. Shipping activity in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz remains under close watch after multiple commercial vessels altered their routes because of security concerns.
With military operations continuing and diplomatic progress limited, tensions across the Middle East remain high, raising concerns about regional stability, global energy supplies, and the possibility of a wider conflict.
