The earlier Islamabad Talks, hosted by Pakistan, brought together senior representatives from both sides for nearly 21 hours of closed-door discussions. Although no formal deal was reached, the talks were seen as an important step toward opening direct communication channels between Washington and Tehran. Officials believe this engagement has laid the groundwork for further dialogue.
Pakistan has once again offered to host the next round before the current ceasefire deadline on April 21. However, the final decision will depend on whether both sides agree on Islamabad or consider alternative venues such as Geneva. Despite the uncertainty, backchannel diplomacy remains active, with Pakistan continuing to play a key role in relaying messages between both nations.
