Security forces eliminate nearly 50 terrorists in Balochistan and KP

Security forces and police have successfully neutralised 49 terrorists linked to Indian proxy groups in a series of high intensity operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) shared the details on Friday, describing the actions as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security personnel killed 12 India backed militants belonging to Fitna al Khawarij. These intelligence based operations took place in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts. During the raids, forces recovered and destroyed large quantities of explosives, IED detonating remotes, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles.

In Balochistan, the military media wing reported that 37 militants of the India sponsored Fitna al Hindustan were eliminated. Ten separate intelligence based operations were conducted in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur districts. Security forces also seized and destroyed a significant stock of weapons, explosive drums and remote detonation equipment.

ISPR confirmed that police fully joined these high tempo joint operations. The actions form part of a wider continuous effort to dismantle terrorist networks in the two provinces. Earlier this week, separate operations under Operation Rad ul Fitna 3 in Ziarat, Harnai and Surab districts of Balochistan had already resulted in the killing of at least nine more terrorists. Ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie talkies and a motorcycle were recovered from those sites.

Pakistan has faced a rise in terrorist activity especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021. According to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies, these two provinces accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence related fatalities in the second quarter of 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone recorded more than 61 percent of the deaths and the highest number of violent incidents.

The latest successes show the determination of security forces to maintain pressure on militant groups. By combining precise intelligence with coordinated action on the ground, the military and police continue to degrade the operational capacity of these networks. Officials maintain that such sustained operations remain essential for restoring lasting peace and stability in the affected regions.
