Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has announced the launch of an emergency international coalition to support the Palestinian Authority, confirming that Saudi Arabia will provide $90 million in direct financial aid under this initiative.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, where Prince Faisal reiterated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to standing by the Palestinian people in their time of need. He emphasized that this assistance is crucial to ensuring the Palestinian government continues functioning effectively amid ongoing challenges.
The Saudi minister also addressed the broader regional context, making it clear that any progress toward normalization with Israel cannot occur without resolving the central issue of Palestine. He stressed that the creation of an independent Palestinian state remains the foundation of sustainable peace in the Middle East. According to him, the two-state solution is the only fair and realistic path forward that can bring stability for both Palestinians and Israelis.
The decision to form an international coalition comes amid heightened regional tensions and continued global concern over the humanitarian and political struggles of the Palestinian people. By offering immediate financial relief and encouraging broader international cooperation, Saudi Arabia aims not only to address urgent needs but also to push for a long-term political solution grounded in justice and statehood.
This move further underscores Riyadh’s growing diplomatic role and highlights its determination to keep the Palestinian cause central in ongoing peace efforts across the region.
