Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed heartfelt gratitude to Turkey for its strong and lasting friendship with Pakistan, recalling how the nation stood by Pakistan during tough times, especially during conflicts with India.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad to celebrate Turkey’s Republic Day, he said the bond between Pakistan and Turkey is built on mutual trust, respect, and shared values, which have deepened through the years.
The Prime Minister emphasized the close cooperation between both countries in economic, defense, and strategic areas, adding that efforts are ongoing to expand trade and investment opportunities. He also acknowledged Turkey’s consistent support for Pakistan, whether in political, military, or humanitarian matters.
Shehbaz Sharif praised Turkey’s firm stance on Palestine and Kashmir, while reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Turkey on the Cyprus issue. He noted that the two nations have always supported each other on international platforms, showing true brotherhood and unity.
He added that Pakistan and Turkey share cultural and religious connections that strengthen the relationship between their people. Shehbaz Sharif concluded that Pakistan is proud of its friendship with Turkey, a bond rooted in history and built for peace, progress, and mutual respect.
