Pakistan has strongly dismissed claims made by the Afghan Taliban that its forces played any role in the recent violence in Badakhshan. The Ministry of Information issued a clear statement rejecting the accusations as completely baseless and without any supporting evidence.

Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had claimed in an interview that Pakistani authorities were physically involved in the clashes taking place in Badakhshan. The ministry responded firmly, stating that nothing could be farther from the truth. Officials emphasised that no credible evidence has been presented to support this false narrative.

According to the ministry, the unrest in Badakhshan is the result of Afghanistan’s own internal security and governance challenges. It is not linked to any interference from Pakistan. Independent reports have described the violence as an armed struggle against the non-inclusive and oppressive policies of the Afghan Taliban regime. These reports have found no connection to Pakistani involvement.

Pakistan has repeatedly stated that it supports a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. The country has no interest in creating instability for its neighbour. The ministry urged the Taliban leadership to focus on the growing problems caused by their own governance failures instead of shifting blame onto Pakistan.

“Assertions without evidence cannot substitute facts,” the official statement underlined. Officials stressed that blaming external parties will not solve Afghanistan’s internal difficulties. The real issues stem from challenges within the Afghan system of rule.

The Pakistani government has consistently called for peace, dialogue and stability in the region. It continues to maintain that constructive engagement and responsible governance are the only paths forward for Afghanistan. False claims only damage the possibility of better relations between the two neighbouring countries.

By rejecting these allegations so clearly, Pakistan has once again highlighted its commitment to regional peace while refusing to accept unfounded accusations. The focus, according to the ministry, should remain on addressing real problems inside Afghanistan rather than creating narratives that lack any basis in reality.
