Pakistan, Iran Reaffirm Strong Ties and Commitment to Regional Peace

Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing regional cooperation, and promoting long term peace and stability across the region. During a high level meeting in Islamabad, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue and reducing tensions between Iran and the United States.

President Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on a one day official visit following recent diplomatic engagements between Tehran and Washington in Switzerland. His visit highlights the growing importance of regional diplomacy and the strong relationship between the two neighboring countries.

During talks with President Asif Ali Zardari, both leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including regional peace, security cooperation, economic partnerships, trade expansion, connectivity projects, and diplomatic collaboration. The discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation in areas that can contribute to long term prosperity and stability.

President Zardari welcomed the Iranian leader and emphasized the historic brotherly ties shared by Pakistan and Iran. He expressed confidence that ongoing diplomatic efforts would help create lasting peace and improve regional understanding. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.

President Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its support during recent challenges and appreciated Islamabad’s continued efforts to promote dialogue over confrontation. He noted that Iran highly values its relationship with Pakistan and is eager to expand cooperation in political, economic, and security sectors.

Separately, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met President Pezeshkian to discuss regional developments and peace initiatives. During the meeting, the Iranian president acknowledged Pakistan’s responsible role in encouraging dialogue and maintaining regional stability amid evolving geopolitical challenges.

Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful solutions and regional harmony. Both sides agreed to continue close consultations and cooperation on matters of mutual interest. The meetings concluded with a shared commitment to advancing peace, prosperity, economic growth, and stronger Pakistan Iran relations for the benefit of the entire region.
