Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister, Shahid Rind, addressed growing online speculation on Sunday. He explained that the decision was taken after careful review of the situation along the frontier. Security concerns and the rising volume of smuggling activities made the temporary measure necessary. Rind noted that both Pakistani and Iranian officials have been holding constructive talks to resolve administrative hurdles. These discussions have already produced positive results, and the border is expected to reopen in the near future.

A new coordinated system is being developed between the two sides. The goal is to improve day to day border management, maintain law and order, and create safer conditions for legitimate traders. Effective control will also help reduce unrest in nearby areas and allow authorities to offer better facilities to businesses that depend on cross border commerce.

Earlier, the Quetta Chamber of Commerce raised strong concerns. Chamber representatives reported that roughly two thousand trucks carrying goods were stranded on both sides of the frontier. Traders dealing with Iranian markets were advised to pause new purchases because of the uncertainty. The commerce ministry also instructed businesses to temporarily halt fresh bookings for goods coming from Iran. Officials from the chamber warned that prolonged closure could lead to significant financial losses for local merchants and transporters.

Rind urged the public to ignore unverified claims circulating on social media. He assured that the provincial government remains focused on practical solutions that protect both national security and the interests of traders. Once the improved management framework is in place, the border is expected to function more smoothly and securely for everyone involved.

Local businesses continue to monitor the situation closely, hoping for a swift resolution that restores normal trade flows while addressing the underlying problems of smuggling and security gaps.
