Two masked men posing as delivery riders targeted luxury cars linked to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif outside his Avenfield apartments in central London. CCTV footage shared by PML-N Youth Wing leader Khurram Butt shows the suspects arriving on motorcycles around midnight. They wore masks and gloves to hide their faces before approaching the vehicles parked on the public road.

Nawaz Sharif is currently in London for a week-long medical check-up visit along with his sons Hasan and Hussain Nawaz. According to Butt, the men removed four items from the cars and damaged at least one rear-view mirror. The BMW and Mercedes-Benz together are valued at around £200,000. Several other vehicles were parked nearby that night, yet only the two cars associated with the former prime minister were targeted.

The cars are usually kept inside the Avenfield property. Ongoing renovation work has limited normal parking access, so the vehicles had to remain on the street. Butt confirmed that the CCTV footage has been handed over to the Metropolitan Police, who are now investigating the matter.

PML-N UK President Ahsan Dar described the incident as potentially politically motivated. He pointed out that the selective targeting of only Nawaz’s cars, despite other vehicles being present, raises serious questions. Police have not yet confirmed any political angle, and the identities of the suspects remain unknown.

This is not the first security-related episode involving the Sharif family in London. In May 2023, a vehicle linked to Nawaz was damaged during a confrontation with protesters. Earlier incidents include attempts to enter the Avenfield residence in 2018, a reported attempt to access Hassan Nawaz’s office in 2021, and an assault on a security guard in 2022. In 2023, vehicles were fraudulently registered in Nawaz’s name at the same address, leading to a police and DVLA investigation.

The latest event has once again highlighted ongoing security concerns around the former prime minister during his stays in London. Authorities continue to examine the available evidence to determine the full circumstances and motive behind the damage.
