The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Pakistan will tour England next year for a five match One Day International series as part of its preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The series will provide both teams with valuable experience ahead of the global tournament, which will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from 4 October to 21 November 2027.
According to the PCB, the ODI series will begin on 15 May in Southampton. The second match will be played in Manchester on 19 May, followed by the third ODI in Leeds on 21 May. The fourth match is scheduled for 23 May in Chester le Street, while the series will conclude with the fifth ODI in Cardiff on 26 May.
The upcoming tour is expected to play a crucial role in helping Pakistan prepare for English conditions, which are often considered challenging for visiting teams. With the World Cup approaching, the series will also give selectors an opportunity to test combinations, assess player form, and build a settled squad for the tournament.
Pakistan are currently fifth in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, while England are ranked seventh. Both sides will be looking to improve their standing and regain consistency in the 50 over format before the World Cup.
Before the ODI tour, Pakistan are also scheduled to visit England next month for a three match Test series from 19 August to 13 September. That tour will provide another important challenge for the Pakistani side as they continue to prepare across formats.
The last time Pakistan played an ODI series in England was in 2021, when Babar Azam was the leading run scorer with 177 runs, including a superb 158 in the third ODI. His performances remain one of the highlights of Pakistan’s recent ODI history in England.
