Pakistan Bowl Out West Indies for 311 in First Test
Pakistan’s fast bowlers delivered a disciplined performance to dismiss the West Indies for 311 on day two of the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Mohammad Ali led the attack with a four-wicket haul as the hosts were bowled out in 98.5 overs.
After choosing to bat first, the West Indies struggled to find momentum against accurate bowling. Mohammad Abbas struck early by removing Brandon King for 12, and later claimed two more wickets. Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Kavem Hodge tried to rebuild, but Aamer Jamal broke their stand by dismissing Chanderpaul for 21.
Kavem Hodge went on to score a determined 84, while Shai Hope produced the top score of the innings with a well-crafted 92. The pair frustrated Pakistan for long periods and helped the total climb past 200. However, the visitors kept chipping away. Khurram Shahzad removed Hodge and later claimed another wicket, while Mohammad Ali dismissed Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph, Shai Hope, and finally Jayden Seales to wrap up the innings.
Shamar Joseph provided some late entertainment with a quick 23 that included four boundaries and a six, but Pakistan refused to let the scoring rate get out of hand. Captain Roston Chase managed only 10 before falling to Abbas.
Mohammad Ali finished with outstanding figures of 4 for 50 from 21.5 overs. Mohammad Abbas supported him well with three wickets, Khurram Shahzad took two, and Aamer Jamal claimed one. The bowling unit maintained tight lines and lengths throughout, preventing the West Indies from posting a much larger total.
This controlled bowling display has given Pakistan a solid platform heading into their own batting effort. The visitors will now look to build a strong first-innings reply and take control of the match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
