Pakistan’s security forces have intensified their counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan, where the ongoing Operation Shaban has resulted in the elimination of more than 70 terrorists, according to security sources. The latest operation in the Saran Tangai area led to the killing of four more militants, bringing the total number of terrorists eliminated during Operation Shaban to 71.
Security officials further stated that since July 5, a total of 109 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence based operations conducted across Balochistan. These operations are part of a broader campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in the province.
During the latest operation, security personnel recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the militants. The seized items included M4 rifles, submachine guns (SMGs), rocket launchers, mobile phones, and other equipment believed to have been used in terrorist activities.
Operation Shaban was launched following the terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station in Ziarat. The operation is being carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police, who continue to conduct coordinated search and clearance operations in various parts of the province.
Despite the success of the ongoing campaign, recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan have claimed the lives of 42 people, including security personnel and civilians. Authorities have reiterated that the operation will continue until all terrorist elements are eliminated and lasting peace is restored.
Earlier, ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that terrorists attacked the Ziarat checkpoint, where police officers resisted bravely and eliminated several militants before security forces reached the area. He praised the courage of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives while defending the country.
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist activities in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent years. Security forces continue to conduct intelligence based operations to strengthen national security, protect civilians, and maintain stability across the country.
