Nawaz Sharif cars were vandalised once again in London when two masked men smashed the windows and stole glass panels from the vehicles. This marks the third such attack on the former prime minister’s cars in the British capital.
A spokesperson for the Sharif family confirmed to Geo News that the incident took place two days ago. Metropolitan Police have recovered CCTV footage that clearly shows two young masked individuals removing the window glass from the cars. Police hope the video will help identify the culprits, though their identities and motives remain unknown so far.
The latest damage has again drawn attention to the security concerns surrounding Nawaz Sharif and his family during their stays in London. Over the years, several incidents have taken place near their properties and offices.
In July 2018, protesters tried to force their way into the family’s Avenfield residence. Police had to intervene after demonstrators attempted to break through the entrance, and clashes between rival groups led to arrests.
In May 2021, four men, three of them masked, tried to enter the London office of Hassan Nawaz while the former prime minister was present inside. PML-N leaders claimed the men intended to attack Sharif, and the matter was reported to the police.
Another confrontation occurred in April 2022 outside Sharif’s London office. Security staff stepped in during an encounter with protesters, and one guard was injured. Police later confirmed they had received an assault complaint.
In May 2023, one of Nawaz’s vehicles was damaged when Black Lives Matter protesters clashed with police in central London. A protester threw coffee at the car and kicked it. Later reports clarified that Sharif himself was not the intended target.
British police also warned the Sharif family in January 2025 about a possible violent threat based on intelligence they had received.
The current incident happened while Nawaz Sharif is in London for medical appointments and is staying at the Avenfield Apartments. The family has stated this is the third case involving his cars, though independent details of the earlier two incidents are not fully available.
Police have secured the latest CCTV evidence, but no arrests have been announced yet. The repeated attacks continue to raise serious questions about the protection of high-profile Pakistani leaders while they are abroad.
