Security forces successfully neutralized four India-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district. The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the action on Thursday, stating that the swift response destroyed two explosives-laden vehicles and stopped a major potential attack.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation began after reports of militants linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan operating in the area. Security personnel intercepted the movement of two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices. They engaged the militants controlling the vehicles and eliminated them in a precise encounter. Both explosives-laden vehicles were completely destroyed during the clash.
ISPR noted that sanitisation operations are still underway in Khuzdar to clear any remaining threats. The military stressed that the broader counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam will continue in close coordination with law enforcement agencies. The goal remains the elimination of foreign-sponsored and supported militancy across the country.
Pakistan has faced a rise in terror incidents, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. Data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies shows that these two provinces remained the main centres of violence in the second quarter of 2026. Together they accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related deaths. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded more than 61 percent of the total fatalities, while Balochistan contributed 34 percent. The same report listed 151 violent incidents in KP and 94 in Balochistan, highlighting the concentrated challenge in these regions.
The latest success in Khuzdar demonstrates the resolve of Pakistani security forces to disrupt terrorist networks before they can strike. Officials say the operation prevented significant loss of life and property. Continued vigilance and intelligence-driven actions remain essential as the campaign against foreign-sponsored terrorism moves forward.
