Residents of Karachi enjoyed a welcome change in weather as light rain and drizzle were reported in several parts of the city late Sunday night. The rainfall brought cooler temperatures and provided relief from the recent spell of hot and humid conditions experienced across the metropolis.
According to reports, areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road, and Sohrab Goth witnessed intermittent drizzling. The light showers created a refreshing atmosphere and improved weather conditions for residents who had been dealing with rising temperatures during the past few days.
Rainfall activity was also observed on Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Rashid Minhas Road, and nearby localities. Although the showers remained mostly light, they were enough to make the weather significantly more pleasant across various neighborhoods. Many residents welcomed the change, while social media users shared images and videos of the rainfall from different parts of the city.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted changing weather conditions due to a seasonal low-pressure system positioned over northern Balochistan and surrounding areas. Meteorologists also noted the influence of a westerly weather system affecting the upper regions of the country. In addition, moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea were entering central and southern Pakistan, creating favorable conditions for rainfall in certain regions.
The weather department stated that while most parts of Pakistan are expected to remain hot and dry, some areas could experience rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Forecasts indicated the possibility of dust storms and thunderstorms in parts of central Punjab, the Potohar region, and southern districts of Balochistan.
For Karachi residents, the light rain served as a welcome break from the heat and added a refreshing touch to the city’s atmosphere. Weather experts continue to monitor regional systems and advise citizens to stay updated with official forecasts for any further developments.
