Pakistani security forces successfully neutralized nine terrorists linked to Indian sponsorship during two intelligence based operations in Balochistan. The military media wing ISPR confirmed the actions took place on October 26 after credible intelligence reports about the presence of militants belonging to the group known as Fitna al-Hindustan.
In the first operation conducted in Kachhi district, forces located and engaged a terrorist hideout. An exchange of fire followed, resulting in the elimination of seven India sponsored terrorists. Troops recovered a significant amount of weapons and ammunition from the site after the confrontation ended.
A separate intelligence based operation unfolded in Wadh district. Security personnel tracked the movement of another group of militants and intercepted them. Intense firing took place and two more India backed terrorists were killed. Additional arms and ammunition were seized from these individuals as well.
ISPR stated that sanitisation operations continue in both areas to ensure no remaining militants stay hidden. The forces remain committed to clearing every pocket of terrorist presence. These actions form part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign called Azm e Istehkam. The Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan approved this comprehensive effort to root out foreign sponsored terrorism across the country.
Pakistan has faced a sharp increase in cross border terrorist incidents especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. Authorities recorded the highest monthly number of militant attacks in twelve years during September 2026. Islamabad has repeatedly called on Kabul to stop its territory from being used as a base for attacks against Pakistani security forces and civilians.
The military maintains that foreign supported networks continue to pose a serious threat. Through sustained intelligence based operations security forces aim to dismantle these networks completely. Weapons recovery and the elimination of active terrorists demonstrate the effectiveness of current efforts. Further operations will proceed at full pace until the threat of externally backed militancy ends.
Officials emphasize that the campaign protects both national security and the safety of ordinary citizens living in affected regions. Continuous vigilance and precise action remain the core approach against all forms of terrorism operating inside Pakistan.
