Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to defeating cross border terrorism, stating that all threats to the country’s security will be countered with the full strength of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks while addressing officers graduating from the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Rawalpindi. The course included participants from all branches of the armed forces.
During his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the rapidly changing nature of modern warfare and stressed the importance of strategic thinking, professional excellence, and strong national institutions in responding to emerging security challenges. He praised the National Defence University for preparing future military and civilian leaders capable of handling hybrid, conventional, and sub conventional threats with confidence and foresight.
The army chief stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces are continuously updating their operational strategies and capabilities to match the evolving security environment. He added that the military remains fully aware of attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilize Pakistan through terrorist proxies and other unlawful activities.
Field Marshal Munir emphasized that such efforts will not be allowed to harm Pakistan’s internal security, stability, or economic progress. He assured that, with the support of the people of Pakistan, security forces will continue operations to completely dismantle terrorist networks, their safe havens, and all individuals who provide them with assistance.
He further remarked that victories in conflict are achieved through faith, unity, and discipline, rather than political slogans or media campaigns. Concluding his speech, he expressed confidence in the professionalism, courage, and operational readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces and encouraged the graduating officers to uphold the principles of integrity, selfless service, and unwavering dedication to the nation throughout their careers.
