The Pakistan Super League witnessed an exciting clash as Multan Sultans secured a convincing victory over Rawalpindiz in the 14th match of PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Chasing a competitive target of 183 runs, Multan Sultans displayed a dominant batting performance, reaching the total comfortably with seven wickets in hand and 22 balls remaining. The chase was led brilliantly by Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe, who both delivered impressive half centuries.
The innings did not begin smoothly for the Sultans, as Mohammad Amir dismissed opener Steve Smith early. However, Farhan and Philippe quickly shifted momentum with a match changing 110 run partnership, putting the opposition under pressure.
Philippe played an aggressive knock of 56 runs off 30 balls, while Farhan topped the scoring with a powerful 68 off 36 deliveries, hitting multiple boundaries and sixes. Their partnership laid the foundation for an easy finish.
After their departure, captain Ashton Turner and vice captain Shan Masood ensured there were no late hiccups. The duo calmly guided the team to victory with an unbeaten stand, sealing the match in the 17th over.
Earlier, Rawalpindiz posted 182 for 8 in their 20 overs. Despite some early setbacks, Sam Billings stood out with a fighting unbeaten 56 runs, providing a late boost to the innings.
The standout performance with the ball came from Faisal Akram, who claimed four crucial wickets, restricting the opposition from posting a bigger total.
