India’s national cricket team has received a massive financial reward after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announcing a record breaking bonus for the players and support staff. The team was awarded INR 1.31 billion, which equals approximately $14.2 million, following their dominant performance in the tournament.
India secured their third T20 World Cup title with a convincing 96 run victory over New Zealand in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The win marked another historic achievement for Indian cricket and sparked celebrations across the country.
Although the team received $2.34 million as the official tournament prize money, the BCCI decided to reward the squad with a much larger bonus in recognition of their exceptional performance. The bonus alone is around $3 million higher than the entire prize pool of the tournament, which stood at $11.25 million.
In an official statement, the cricket board praised the players, coaching staff, and selectors for their efforts during the competition. Officials highlighted that the reward reflects the board’s appreciation for the team’s dedication, discipline, and outstanding results on the global stage.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed pride in the team’s achievement and emphasised that the players remain focused on future goals.
