A horrifying act of violence in Karak district has shaken the nation after terrorists linked to Fitna al Khawarij attacked a Rescue 1122 ambulance and set it on fire, burning wounded Federal Constabulary personnel alive. The tragic incident occurred on February 23, 2026, leaving the country in grief and anger.

The violence began at the Qila Shaheedan post, where militants launched a quadcopter drone attack on security forces. Soon after the assault, two Rescue 1122 ambulances rushed to evacuate the injured personnel. While one ambulance managed to escape the ambush, the second vehicle was intercepted by armed attackers.

In a deeply disturbing act that violated international humanitarian laws and basic human values, the terrorists set the ambulance ablaze with injured personnel still inside. The victims, all local Pashtuns from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, included Sepoy Murad Gul from Hangu, Sepoy Ayan Khan from Hangu, and Lance Naik Adil Khan from Mansehra. These brave men embraced martyrdom while being transported for medical care.

The ambulance driver Ahmad Hussain and a Rescue 1122 official sustained severe burn injuries. Other injured personnel, including Havaldar Sabir, Muhammad Yusuf, and Hanif, are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in Bannu and Karak.

Reports indicate that the attackers filmed the brutal act and circulated the footage online to spread fear. The attack, carried out during the holy month of Ramadan, has drawn strong condemnation from religious scholars and community leaders, who emphasized that Islam strictly forbids harming the wounded or medical workers.

Security officials have vowed that the sacrifices of these martyrs will not be forgotten. Operations against Fitna al Khawarij will continue with full determination to restore peace and eliminate terrorism from the region.
