Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held an important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, where both leaders discussed regional tensions, economic cooperation, and strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting lasted nearly two hours and was described as warm and productive, reflecting the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations.

During the discussion, Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sincere gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued economic support, which has played a key role in helping Pakistan maintain financial stability. He emphasized that Pakistan highly values this partnership and considers Saudi Arabia a trusted ally during challenging times.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kingdom, stating that the people of Pakistan stand firmly alongside their Saudi brothers. He acknowledged the Crown Prince’s strong leadership and praised the Kingdom’s calm and responsible approach amid ongoing regional tensions. He also conveyed condolences over the loss of lives due to recent developments in the region.

A significant part of the meeting focused on regional peace efforts, particularly Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran. Shehbaz Sharif shared updates on recent diplomatic efforts, including progress toward a ceasefire and talks held in Islamabad. This highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a peace mediator in the region.

Both sides also reviewed their strategic partnership, including defense cooperation under existing agreements. They agreed to maintain close coordination on key regional and global issues moving forward.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials. Upon arrival in Jeddah, the delegation received a warm welcome from Saudi officials and diplomats.

This meeting further strengthens the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, built on mutual trust, shared interests, and continued cooperation in both economic and strategic areas.
