Pakistan Women Take Unbeatable Lead After Crushing Zimbabwe in 2nd ODI
Pakistan Women delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat Zimbabwe by a massive 206 runs in the second ODI at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. With this victory, the home side has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, leaving Zimbabwe with no chance of a comeback.
Chasing a daunting target of 344 runs, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 137 runs in 39 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers completely dominated the Zimbabwe batting lineup. Fatima Sana was the star with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 15 runs. Syeda Aroob Shah, Rameen Shamim, and Momina Riasat each picked up two wickets, while Diana Baig took one.
For Zimbabwe, Runyararo Pasipanodya remained unbeaten on 33 off 62 balls. Opener Kelis Ndhlovu scored 32, while Beloved Biza made 29. However, none of the batters could build a substantial innings against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.
Earlier, Pakistan Women posted a massive total thanks to brilliant centuries from openers Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza. The pair shared a record-breaking 189-run opening stand, the second-highest in Pakistan Women’s ODI history. Gull Feroza scored a magnificent maiden ODI century (100 off 95 balls), while Sadaf Shamas also notched her first ODI ton with 101 runs. Sidra Amin remained unbeaten on 59, and lower-order batters played handy cameos to push the score to 343.
The third and final ODI between Pakistan Women and Zimbabwe Women will be played on Saturday at the same venue.
This dominant win highlights the growing strength and depth of Pakistan’s women’s team in the 50-over format.
