The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially confirmed that the Australia men’s cricket team is scheduled to visit for a three-match ODI series at the end of this month. This upcoming bilateral series is a major event on the sports calendar, bringing international competition back to local venues. According to the official announcement by the PCB, the Australian squad is expected to touch down in Islamabad on May 23. This arrival date gives the visiting players plenty of time to prepare and adapt before the first match kicks off.
The opening fixture of the series will be hosted at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30. After the initial encounter in Rawalpindi, the teams will travel to the historic city of Lahore for the remainder of the tour. The Gaddafi Stadium will serve as the venue for both the second and third One Day International matches, which are scheduled for June 2 and June 4, respectively. To ensure maximum engagement for fans at the ground and on television, all three matches are set to begin at 4:30 pm local time. The toss for each game will take place at 4:00 pm, exactly thirty minutes before the first ball is bowled.
This series holds significant historical importance as it represents Australia’s first dedicated ODI tour of Pakistan since the matches played in March and April of 2022. Earlier this year, the two nations faced each other in a T20I series during January and February. In that contest, the Pakistan team achieved a dominant 3-0 victory while playing in Lahore. Furthermore, the Australian side is quite familiar with the Gaddafi Stadium following their participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. During that prestigious tournament, they secured a notable five-wicket win against England on February 22. This upcoming series is expected to be a thrilling contest as both teams look to display their strength in the ODI format. Cricket enthusiasts are looking forward to this high-stakes series as it promises to deliver intense action and showcase the tactical depth of both squads.
